LIVE EVENT CASE STUDIES
The Live Events course made its debut in the Event Management curriculum during the fall semester of my senior year, so I was lucky enough to be in the very first class offered to students! Throughout the semester, I studied three live event cases and collaborated with my groupmates to write about the ins and outs of these renowned events. I wrote about the "Logistics, Operations, & Crisis/Risk Management Plans" from the perspective of one stakeholder and performed a "SWOT Analysis" in each case study. If you'd like to take a look at my specific writings, I've highlighted the sections in the PDF documents for your convenience!
The Kentucky Derby
In this case study, I analyze the Kentucky Derby from the jockeys' perspective. I cover how they secure a race mount, manage training and race-day logistics, and handle risks. I also explore their coordination with agents, trainers, and owners as well as the challenges they face throughout Derby Week.

Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show:
California Love
This case analyzes the behind-the-scenes of the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show using the documentary The Show: California Love. I chose to write from the perspective of the Head of Music, also known as the NFL's "go-to executive for all music-related business" (DiGiacomo, 2022).
AstroWorld Festival Tragedy
In this case study, we investigate the crowd crush tragedy that took place at the AstroWorld Festival in Houston, Texas. I used my research and firefighting knowledge to defend Houston Fire Department's logistics, operations, and crisis/risk management plans because some people believe they are at fault for the incident.
